ALI doubles target for the 175KB book drive
It seemed like a daunting task at first. In celebration of its 175th Anniversary, Ayala Corporation called on the entire Ayala citizenry to come together for a good cause. It launched a book drive coined “175 KB”. It was a call to collect old, used, unused, and even new storybooks for children aged 6 to 12 years old. These were meant to be donated to selected public schools nationwide. The target was not easy.
Each Ayala company was given a target based on its number of employees. Ayala Land’s target was 6,500 books but the company aimed a bit higher and called for 7,000 storybooks among its employees. After 4 weeks of rallying everyone, ALI made target and even went over it.
The final tally: 14,000 story books!

During the first three weeks, many employees donated used books and money. Then as deadline neared, the numbers increased. Team effort across ALI and its subsidiaries made it all possible.
ALI collected a library of truly wonderful story books for children. These will be donated to 30 public schools within the communities where ALI projects are located. ALI employees even volunteered to participate in the actual distribution of these books.
Truly, ALI employees exhibit and put to heart their value of corporate social responsibility.
