Ayala Land To Build Biggest BPO Site in Manila
In a joint venture with Manila Jockey Club Inc. (MJCI), Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI), the country’s largest property developer, will be constructing a 2-tower BPO office development in the former San Lazaro Racetrack property in Sta. Cruz, Manila. This BPO office complex will sit on a 1.1 hectare property along Felix Huertas Street adjacent to the SM San Lazaro Mall and will form part of an Ayala Land mixed-use, fully integrated development in the area, which will comprise of retail, residential and commercial areas.
This is ALI’s first office development in the city of Manila and it will be the largest Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) site in the area offering a combined total gross leasable area of 42,000 sqms. upon completion. The area has been identified as an ideal location for BPO locators due to its close proximity to Manila’s university belt, a rich source of talent, and is expected to generate approximately 13,000 jobs once completed.
The buildings will be constructed based on world-class standards and will be specifically designed to address the technical requirements of BPOs such as telco and data redundancy, 100% back-up power, high-speed and large-capacity elevators and retail & support amenities to address the locators’ unique 24/7 operations. Target completion date for the first office tower will be by 4Q 2008 and the second tower by 4Q 2010.
