Easter treats at the gardens

It was quite an unlikely sight for a place surrounded by skyscrapers. But it was a Sunday, after all. And it was Easter. The Ayala Triangle Gardens (ATG) was the perfect place for an egg-hunt!

ATG opened its gates to the sound of happy children and their doting parents on April 4. Over 250 kids came with their parents and other relatives for the colorful Easter Egg Hunt. To give the gardens a festive flair, food kiosks were set up and entertainment was provided.

Clowns, jugglers, and a bunny mascot kept the kids entertained. Their faces were painted with all sorts of cute designs and their funny photos were taken at the animated photo booth. Their cool caricatures were even drawn by expert sketchers. The kids (and some parents) also got a chance to ride the jumbo slide.

When egg-hunting time came, a “stampede” of tots rushed through a portion of the gardens where more than 2,000 Easter eggs were scattered. Inside the toy eggs were candies and small toys for everyone. Moms, dads, grandparents, titos, titas and yayas followed the little kids around and helped collect and carry the loot.

Families savored the moment with their loved ones. This made the event very special.

According to Anna Garcia-Ramos, SLMG Marketing Manager for Makati, the objective for creating traditionally celebrated events like Easter stems from a community-building perspective.

“We would like Makati CBD residents to feel a sense of belonging. To feel part of a thriving and progressive community, where weekends are occasions to enjoy their very own gardens” she said.

“We want them to treat the gardens as an extension of their homes where they can play, relax and bond with their family. This also helps change the perception that Makati is only alive during weekdays.”

The Easter event at the gardens is the first of a series of offerings under ATG’s Summerfest line-up which includes arts and crafts sessions, a sports fest and an amazing race event. Families can look forward to these exciting weekenders soon.

Since ATG opened its doors to various pedestrian-friendly activities, more people have come to know and are now drawn to this refreshing spot of green within the Makati CBD.
